What types of sessions do you provide?
AllyRey Photography is one of Maine’s favorite photographers for
weddings, engagements, families, newborns, babies, and events. With top of the
line equipment and years of experience, you’re sure to love every one of your
photos. It usually takes some warming up but the best shots by far are those
that are real – not posed. My goal is to capture your children just as they are
– happy, curious, shy, adventurous! I enjoy having fun with the kids and
chasing them around or asking what they are interested in. It’s similar to a
play date, really! The idea is to have it be fun, not forced. Wedding photos
can range from super structured (pose lists) to natural and casual.
When
should I have my maternity photos taken?
Around week 32 to week 36. This will allow you to still be
comfortable but also remember what your belly looked like toward the end of
your pregnancy. Please contact me by the end of your second trimester.
I’m
expecting a baby in a few months. Should I wait to schedule a newborn session
after the baby arrives?
The best time to
schedule your newborn session would be when you are still pregnant. I am able
to put you on my schedule to save a spot when the baby does arrive.
How
soon after baby is born do we take newborn photos?
The best time to photograph a newborn is within those first 5-10
days because being so new and fresh from your cozy belly – they are still quite
sleepy and bendy and they don’t have the skin imperfections that start around
the 2nd week of life. The sooner you let me know you've had your
baby, the better. Plan on your session taking 2 – 3 hours allowing time for
feeding breaks and diaper changes. Newborn sessions are scheduled for mornings
or early afternoons since they typically take long. If siblings would like to
have a few shots with their tiny family member, I will take those pictures at
the beginning or end of the session. I love to take natural photos of parents
with the baby- I encourage these shots during the changes or natural feeding
times during the session.
When
can I expect to see our photos?
After our session, I may post a sneak peek on Facebook and/or my
blog. Portrait clients may see their photos on my gallery site within 2-3 weeks after their session. This online proofing system makes it easy to purchase prints and share your photos with friends & family.
Why
does it take 2 weeks to work on our photos?
Although the images are digital and available to me immediately,
they still go through a structured workflow in my “digital darkroom”. I take my
time and go over each photo individually to see if it meets my high standards
(sharpness, detail, color, light, composition, etc.) When they are perfect, I
burn them to DVD and give you a call!
Can I print my photos from our session at any lab?
You
have a full print release, which means you can print them anywhere, but I
advise against it. 1-hour photo labs are not specialized in providing quality
portraits – it’s just a convenient place to purchase your prints. If you've spent your hard earned money on custom photography for your family, you’ll want
quality prints to reflect your investment – and as a complimentary service, I
upload your photos to an online based printing company that provides quality
prints at a very affordable rate. *I will always recommend that fine art
products such as canvas gallery wraps and float wraps be purchased through me
and the professional photo lab I use.
How do I book my session with you?
Emailing me is best. allyreyphotography@gmail.com Not only can I find a good day for us, but I
can get to know you a little and see what you’re looking for in a session. If
you’d like to pay by cash or check, that can be done at the time of your
session. If you prefer credit/debit, you can choose that option. Weddings and
packages require a retainer and an agreement to hold your date. Email me and I’ll
send you a contract with all of the details for booking with me.
